(August 29, 2023) Since April 15, 2023, the war in Sudan has further weakened the capacity and will of the government to control dangerous substances such as cyanide and thiourea which have already caused significant health and environmental damage and which has the potential to do more catastrophic damage.

In this paper, researcher Mohamed Salah Abdelrahman explains the risks of uncontrolled cyanide and thiourea usage in Sudan and presents recommendations for improving control and management of these dangerous chemicals.
