Security developments – Fighting continues in the capital, the Kordofans and Gezira while both warring parties amass troops in the El Fasher area.

Political developments – Civil actors continue to organize in various international capitals while the warring parties try to set up their own civilian administrations.

Humanitarian developments – Aid access and low funding continue to hamper efforts at a time when at least three areas face potential famine.

Human rights – The plight of thousands trapped in the fighting in El Fasher is of particular concern. The army has amended the General Intelligence Law, providing sweeping powers to the security sector to harass and detain the public at will.

International response – Public international outcry over the fighting in El Fasher. Despite pressure, talks in Jeddah have not materialized.
